My Approach to Anxiety Therapy
Anxiety leaves us always feeling on edge. Our minds are constantly scanning for a mistake we made, or we may feel like we’re failing at life. To compensate, we create to-do lists longer than Santa's and beat ourselves up for not being able to meet impossible standards. Our bodies may experience panic, tension, or a feeling of floating outside ourselves. Anxiety can keep us in a constant state of fight or flight, leaving us tired and misunderstood by others.
If these feelings are keeping you from peace or clarity, you're in the right place. Our work together will focus on helping you feel better to relieve suffering.
How We'll Work Together
Exposure and response can help you face fears and phobias with confidence. As a holistic practice, we'll also use mindfulness to help calm racing thoughts and your nervous system, allowing for inner peace, creativity, and the development of clear solutions.
I use effective methods to help you get unstuck and back in control. We'll use third-wave Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) interventions as well to help you develop new ways of thinking and problem-solving when triggered by people or situations.
Moving forward
After learning how to manage your anxiety, you'll feel less activated in the same situations and more confident to move forward in finding solutions, setting boundaries, and communicating with others. Your life will feel more organized and manageable, and you will feel more grounded and confident in yourself, especially in social situations.
